NUC Issues Provisional Licenses To 37 New Private Universities

The National University Commission (NUC) has given provisional licenses to 37 newly established private universities approved by the Federal Executive Council, FEC, on May 15.

The Executive Secretary, of NUC, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, at the presentation of provisional licenses to the universities, made it known that the country now has a total of 147 private universities.

Mr. Rasheed however, noted that the National University Commission (NUC) is taking the universities to task, as the NUC has asked owners of the various citadels to compete with global best practices.
