Kano Governor, Abba Yusuf Appoints 15 Head Of Agencies, 10 Special Advisers

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has appointed 15 heads of government agencies and 10 Special Advisers to assist him in the smooth and efficient running of the state.

Confirming the appointments in a statement via Twitter, Governor Abba Yusuf made it known that the appointments were in line with his administration’s resolve to ensure a more efficient government and also in fulfilment of his campaign promise to place credible and loyal people in the affairs of government.

He said, “In our resolve to ensure a more efficient government in Kano. I have approved the appointment of the following heads of government agencies and institutions.

Those appointed as heads of government agencies are as follows: Hon. Kabiru Getso Haruna, Executive Secretary, Kano State Scholarship Board, Prof. Aliyu Isa Aliyu, Director General, Kano State Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Kabiru Ado Zakirai, Executive Secretary, Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board, Hon. Alkasim Hussain Wudil, Coordinator, Aliko Dangote Skills Acquisition Centre, Farouq Abdu Sumaila, Executive Secretary, Kano State Guidance and Counselling Board, Alh. Umar Shehu Minjibir, Chairman, Kano State Civil Service Commission.

“Others include CP Kabiru Muhammad Gwarzo, Rtd. Director General, Kano State Corporate Security Institute, Gabasawa, Dr. Abdullahi Garba Ali, Director, Kano Informatics Institute, Kura, Hajia Shema’u Aliyu, Director, Kano State Institute of Hospitality Management, Dr. Musa Sa’ad Muhammad, Director of State Sports Institute, Karfi, Dr. Abubakar Shehu Minjibir, Director, Kano State Institute of Development Journalism, Abdullahi S. Abdulkadir, Director, Kano State Institute of Farm Mechanisation, Kadawa, Jazuli Muhammad Bichi, Director, Kano State Institute of Livestock, Gargai, Dr Maigari Indabawa, Director, Kano State Film Institute, Tiga. 15. Kabiru Yusuf, Director, Kano State Institute of Fisheries, Bagauda.”

In a separate statement, Governor Yusuf also revealed that he had approved the appointment of 10 special advisers.

He said, “In fulfilment of our campaign promise to place credible and loyal people in the affairs of our government, I have also approved the appointment of the following Special Advisers: Hon. Garba Durbunde, Special Adviser, Local Government Affairs, Hon. Wakili Aliyu Garko, Special Adviser, Diaspora Matters, Air Commodore Yusha’u Salisu Tudunwada Wada, Rtd. Special Adviser, Joint Security Services, Hon. Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser, Drainages, Gwani Musa Falaki, Special Adviser, Religious Affairs II,  Dr Sulaiman Wali Sani Mni, Special Adviser, Civil Service Matters, Prof. Auwalu Arzai, Special Adviser, Higher Education, Hon. Ahmad Sawaba, Special Adviser, Wildlife Conservation, Alh. Tajuddeen Gambo, Special Adviser, Education, Hon. Baba Abubakar Umar, Special Adviser, Private and Voluntary Schools”.

According to the Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, all appointments take effect immediately as the appointees are directed to take over their new responsibilities within the next 48 hours of this announcement.
