Nottingham Forest Defender, Harry Toffolo Gets Five Months Suspended Ban After Violating Betting Rules

The Football Association has imposed a suspended five-month ban on Nottingham Forest, defender Harry Toffolo after admitting to violating 375 betting rules.

Toffolo breached FA rules which ban players from placing bets or passing on information that could be used for betting 375 times between 22 January 2014 and 18 March 2017.

He was a Norwich City player at the time and played on loan for Swindon, Rotherham, Peterborough, and Scunthorpe.

The FA says the written reasons for the decisions “will be published in due course“.

Toffolo made 21 appearances for Forest last season following his move from Huddersfield – and has featured once this season so far, as a substitute in their Carabao Cup loss to Burnley.

In May, Brentford and England striker Ivan Toney was banned for eight months after admitting to 232 breaches of the FA’s betting rules.

Unlike Toffolo, the ban was immediate and not suspended.

Toney was banned from training until 17 September and cannot play again until 17 January 2024.
