IGP, Olukayode Egbetokun Decorates 12 AIGs, 19 CPs
Olukayode Egbetokun, the acting Inspector-General of Police, on Thursday, decorated a total of 12 Assistant Inspectors General of Police and 19 Commissioners of Police with their new ranks during a ceremony that took place at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The decoration comes after the approval by the Police Service Commission of the NPF recommendation for the promotion of the 31 AIGs and CPs, as well as 5,687 other dedicated senior officers within the Nigeria Police Force.
The occasion was attended by the Governors of Abia, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Kogi, and Lagos states, the wife of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Dane; ex-IG Usman Baba, among others.
A statement on Thursday by the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, quoted the IG as charging the elevated officers “to continue to exhibit the core values of service, sacrifice, and selflessness in the discharge of their duties.”
He also commended their dedication and hard work, which, he said, earned them “these well-deserved promotions.”
