President Tinubu Seeks Senate’s Approval Of PSC, CCB Nominees
President Bola Tinubu has submitted a request to the Senate seeking confirmation for the appointment of four individuals as members of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The nominees include retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Buba Ringim, retired Justice Adamu Paul Galumje, Christine Ladi Dabup, and Abdulfatah Muhammed.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio presented President Tinubu’s letter during Thursday’s plenary session.
In the letter, President Tinubu called on the Senate to confirm the nominees by Section 154(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.
“By the provisions of Section 154(1) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate, the appointments of the under-listed four nominees as Members of the Police Service Commission,” the letter partly read.
“While I hope that the Senate will consider and confirm the nominees in the usual expeditious manner, please accept, Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest consideration and personal regards.”
Subsequently, in another letter of request, President Tinubu sought confirmation of the appointments of three nominees as members of the Governing Board of the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB.
The nominees are Fatai Ibikunle; Kennedy Ikpeme and Justice Ibrahim Buba.
