Again, Lagos Destroys Shanties Under Ijora Bridge
The Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources has started the removal of shanties and illegal business activities under the Ijora bridge on Monday.
The ministry’s commissioner, Tokunbo Wahab disclosed this in a post on X.com on Monday.
He wrote, “Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources #LasgMOE commence removal of shanties and illegal business activities under the Ijora bridge.”
On Saturday, Wahab disclosed that a 23-hour notice was served to illegal occupants squatting under the bridge to vacate the premises.
Recall that the state government had earlier in February destroyed and cleared illegal shanties occupied by squatters under the Ijora bridge after a five-day quit notice.
