Eric Maxim Choupo Signs New Bayern Munich Contract
Bayern Munich Forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has signed a one-year contract extension with the Bundesliga side. He will play for the club until 30 June 2024.
Only Jamal Musiala can match Choupo moting’s tally of 15 goals in 24 competitive outings this season, including nine in 16 Bundesliga games, which has helped fill the void left by Robert Lewandoski’s summer departure for Barcelona.
His performances in the current campaign and his overall contribution since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in October 2020 have convinced Bayern to offer the former Mainz and Schalke forward an additional 12 months on his current deal.
“I’m super happy to be staying longer and continuing to have lots of fun with the club. I feel very much at home here. My family also feels at home in Munich. That’s a very important point for me,” said Choupo-Moting, who turns 34 this month.
“I’m obviously pleased I can help the team so much. I get on really well with the guys, we work hard on our goals. The competition is big, but when you want to be among the best, that’s part of it. It’s the only way you can win lots of titles. And we’ve still got big plans. The whole package is right at FC Bayern. There’s no reason to change anything.“
