One Escapes Death As Building Collapses In Ogun

An individual simply identified as Seun narrowly escaped death after a building in the Old Bank area of the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State collapsed on Wednesday.

It was gathered that although no casualties were recorded, the stairs of the collapsed building fell on the victim, who was trapped for hours before being rescued by the people who witnessed the scene.

An eyewitness made it known in an interview that the building had been distressed for a long time before it finally caved in at about 5:20 p.m.

In a one-minute video shared with our correspondent on Thursday, residents were seen mobilizing resources to rescue the victim from the rubble he had been trapped in.

While dragging him out of what seemed like a channel, the rescuers asked for water to be poured over the victim, who looked unconscious in the video.

Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the victim was receiving treatment.
