Wesley Fofana Sustains New Injury As Chelsea Prepare For Premier League Return

Chelsea’s centre back, Wesley Fofana picked up a new injury in a friendly match against Brentford.

The match took place on Tuesday as Fofana looked to continue his conversation recovery, alongside teammates such as Reece James, having not featured for the Blues after suffering a knee injury against AC Milan in October.

Chelsea ran out 5-1 winners during the clash, with a hat-trick from Kai Havertz over three sets of 45 minutes.

Fofana will now undergo tests to determine the severity of the injury and Chelsea will be hoping he is not sidelined for long. The Blues splashed out a reported record fee of £75million to bring Fofana to Stamford Bridge this season, but he has only managed two Premier League appearances so far for his new club.
