2023 Election: Buhari Meets Tinubu, Others At Villa

President Muhammadu Buhari late Wednesday, had a meeting with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

While it was unsure why the meeting took place, still, there are indications that it was not unconnected with the race to presidency 2023.

A few hours after the meeting, Buhari through his spokesman, Garba Shehu revealed that the president is set to campaign for the presidential candidate of the APC.

Mr Shehu added that Buhari’s statement of support for Tinubu is to dispel expressed concerns in certain quarters suggesting something might be wrong seeing that the president has not featured in APC’s campaigns since the national launch in Jos, Plateau State.

He assured that Buhari remains committed to party politics, adding that the functions and duties of the president will also be upheld at times.

Further citing the President’s remarks to the Nigerian community in Washington DC during his recent visit to the United States, the Presidency said Buhari “is ready to campaign for the party’s victory in the general elections next year.”
