Girl shoots boyfriend to death testing local charm potency.

A young man has been shot dead in calabar by his girlfriend upon his orders to the girl. The young man, whose real name was not revealed as at the time of the incidence, goes by the nickname; ‘Email’. He sells Indian hemp and was with a group of his friends at the time of the incident on Wednesday in a compound where he resides at Nelson Mandela Street, Calabar South, opposite the Assembly of God Church.

Younger brother to the girl, narrated the incident, noting that his sister, Blessing was a friend to deceased ’email’ and around 11am on the fateful day, the sister passed by the compound of the late boyfriend at the time he, the deceased was with his group of friends and they had taken local concoctions including native charms against guns and bullet shots.

The group of friends after taking the concoctions started testing the efficacy of the charm on him. Unfortunately, the gun shot from the girl penetrated and he slumped and died instantly and there was pandemonium.

People in the multi-residents compound gathered. Some of his friends took anger against the girl and descended on her with matchets and a lot of rough weapons that left her in deep cuts and bruises on her body before the Police were called in.

According to the girl’s younger brother, the Police carried the body of the deceased and took his sister to the Police clinic in Calabar where she is currently receiving treatments.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Cross River State command, DSP Irene Ugbo confirmed the incident and also confirmed that the girl is on admission at the Police clinic.
