Abia Governor Suspends Chief Of Staff After Spraying Cash On Odumeje

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has suspended his Chief of Staff (CoS), Anthony Agbazuere.

The suspension follows a trending video which shows Agbazuere spraying money on controversial Onitsha-based cleric, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, better known as Odumeje, the ‘Indaboski’.

It’s not clear the date the video was shot but it appears to have been in Agbazuere’s office.

In a statement on Sunday, Secretary to the State Government, Barr Chris Ezem, said the governor has directed the immediate suspension of his CoS.

Although no reason was cited in the statement, it is believed the action was taken as a result of the viral video.

Ezem disclosed that the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Alozie Odoemelam, will perform Agbazuere’s duties until further notice.

“Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the immediate suspension from office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr ACB Agbazuere,” the statement said.

“The Permanent Secretary, Government House, Mr Alozie Odoemelam, will perform the duties of the office of Chief of Staff until further notice.”
