Security Operatives Restrict Kanu’s Lawyer, Journalists, Igbo Leaders From Court Premises
On Wednesday, 10th November, Security operatives barred Maxwell Opara, one of the lawyers of detained leader of the proscribed separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, from going into the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The operatives also restricted journalists, Igbo traditional leaders, as well as observers and activists from the court room.
However, the other lawyers of Kanu; Ifeanyi Ejiofor and Aloy Ejimakor were granted access inside the courtroom.
Justice Binta Nyako had adjourned Kanu’s trial to today.
Nnamdi Kanu is facing terrorism-related charges and has since been detained in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since he was rearrested in a foreign country in June 2021.
