NYSC Makes Covid-19 Vaccination Compulsory For Prospective Corp Members In 2022
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Monday stated that it would not lay down its guard on strict adherence to COVID-19 safety preventions.
This is as a result of the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron, which has been reported.
A statement on Monday by NYSC Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Emeka Mgbemena, revealed that the NYSC Director-General, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, said this during his nationwide virtual address to the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream Two Corps Members and Camp Officials.
According to him, “From the next orientation exercise in 2022, all incoming PCMs will show evidence of vaccination before they would be allowed into the camp for registration.”
Ibrahim advised the corps members that would be done with their orientation course on Tuesday (today) to learn skills that would enable them become business owners.
He added that the NYSC had partnered with lots of institutions such as the Central Bank of Nigeria, Access Bank, Bank of Industry, NYSC Foundation, Heritage Bank and a couple of others to provide soft loans to corps members with good business proposals.
lbrahim also warned them to avoid going on night and unauthorised journeys.
