Tinubu Meets APC Governors, Reacts To Osinbajo’s Declaration

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has met with some governors of the ruling party at the Kebbi State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja on Monday.

The meeting took place hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo officially declared his intention to contest for the presidential seat in the 2023 elections.

The former Lagos Governor, who reacted to Osinbajo’s declaration, revealed that he decided to have a meeting with the governors to collaborate on his 2023 ambition.

“I don’t have any son grown enough to make such declaration,” Tinubu responded when asked about Osinbajo’s move.

“My mission here is to seek collaboration, support, and encouragement of my party, the APC, for my ambition to become the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a replacement for President Muhammadu Buhari after his tenure,” he further said.

The Kebbi State Governor and the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Atiku Bagudu, also denied claims that Osinbajo’s declaration pits him with his political godson.

According to him, the news reveals the quality of people in the ruling APC.

According to the Governor, “The fact that we have people in our party that express desire to lead the party into the highest office in electoral contest shows how much this our party has resonated with Nigerians and our party members”.
