Erik Ten Hag Off To Great Start As Manchester United Thrash Liverpool 4-0

Erik Ten Hag records his first win as Manchester United thrash Liverpool 4-0 in a pre season friendly that took place in Thailand.

Jadon Sancho scored the opening goal before Fred and Anthony Martial increased United’s lead against a Liverpool side that made 21 changes across the 90 minutes, including half-hour cameos for new signings Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho.

Both managers made wholesale substitutions throughout the 90 minutes and Jurgen Klopp’s stronger second-half Liverpool line-up dominated possession before Facundo Pellistri grabbed United’s fourth on the break, 14 minutes from time.

Young Uruguayan Facundo Pellistri added a fourth near the end as, in front of over 50,000 enthusiastic supporters in the Thai capital, Liverpool were made to pay for a combination of their profligacy at one end and defensive errors at the other.

It is, of course, only the start of pre-season, with some Liverpool players literally returning from holiday in the hours before Saturday’s tour departure.
