Lionel Scaloni has signed a contract extension with Argentina, he will coach the national team until the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
The coach will remain at the helm of the Albiceleste for four more years, a position he has held since August 2018.
AFA president Chiqui Tapia made this known this on his social media: “I am proud to tell you that we have agreed Lionel Scaloni’s continuity as Argentina coach until the 2026 World Cup. We remain committed to the comprehensive national team project.”
The head of the AFA attached a photo with Scaloni, both smiling, to confirm the agreement with the coach.
Scaloni has the challenge of making Argentina world champions again at the World Cup in Qatar, which starts in just under two months.
