ASUU Schedules Emergency Meeting Over Suspension Of Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, have scheduled an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Thursday, October 13, to review recent developments, especially the positive response from the federal government to its demands.

Ahead of the meeting, the leadership of the union have requested that its zonal branches collate the views of members through votes and transmit the outcome at the meeting to be held in Abuja on Thursday. The outcome of Thursday’s meeting would result in the suspension of the strike late Thursday or Friday morning.

The leadership of the union held a meeting with the leadership of the House of Representatives on Monday, September 10 and hinted on ending the eight-months old strike in the coming days.
