Gunmen Attack Okowa’s Convoy, Kill Three Police Officers

Gunmen have attacked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s advance convoy and killed three police officers.

The Delta State Information Commissioner Charles Aniagwu confirmed the attack on Saturday in a press briefing in Asaba.

According to the Commissioner, the policemen were traveling as an advance team to be with the governor at the scheduled Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign on Friday.

While they were along the Ihiala/Isseke/Orlu Road, they ran into the hoodlums who opened fire on them killing three of them while the other one managed to escape.

The government says it is deeply saddened by this news, urging the security agencies to do everything possible to unravel those behind the attack.
