Rasmus Kristensen Joins Roma From Leeds United
Serie A side, AS Roma has completed the signing of defender, Rasmus Kristensen on a season-long loan.
Leeds paid an undisclosed fee to sign the 26-year-old from Red Bull Salzburg on a five-year deal last summer.
Kristensen, who has made 15 international appearances for Denmark, has followed Spanish center-back Diego Llorente in making a loan move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Llorente initially joined Roma on loan in January but has returned to the Italian side for the 2023-24 season.
‘AS Roma is delighted to announce the signing of Rasmus Kristensen on a loan deal from Leeds United until 30 June 2024,‘ the club said.
‘I’m proud to be part of this great club – you can feel the history as soon as you walk in here,‘ said the Denmark international who has picked squad number 43.
‘Roma’s European success in recent years made me want to play for this club even more. I can’t wait to have my everyday life here.‘
‘Rasmus is a player we’ve been tracking for a long time, even before he joined Leeds, and now we finally have the chance to bring him to Rome,’ added Roma director Tiago Pinto.
‘He has accumulated a great deal of experience despite his young age. We’re convinced that he will boost our defensive options and make our squad even stronger.’
Kristensen becomes Roma’s third signing this summer following the arrival of Evan N’Dicka and Houssem Aouar who have moved to the Stadio Olimpico on free transfers.
