NDLEA Ambassador: Naira Marley's Visit A Goodwill or An Embarrassment 

On Thursday 17th August, the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA welcomed popular street singer, Naira Marley as their ambassador. Surprising isn’t it!

NDLEA fights against the use of hard drugs and dangerous substances like cocaine, Indian Hemp, Marijuana, Shisha and the likes.

To the amazement of Nigerians the agency welcomed Naira Marley as their ambassador to campaign against drug and substance abuse. Read also

Taking to it’s Instagram page the agency shared a video of Naira Marley addressing his fan base popularly known as ‘Marlians’, against the use of hard drugs and harmful substances.

Subsequently photos of the singer in company of top NDLEA officials surfaced on their Instagram page.

According to the caption Naira Marley came on a courtesy visit to the National Headquarters of the Agency in Abuja to show support for the ‘War Against Drug Abuse’. Read also 

This has been generating reactions from concerned Nigerians on social media. This is because the singer has in many of his songs promoted the use of drugs via lyrics. Also in some of his music videos there are scenes of him taking drugs for instance ‘Tesu Mole’ music video.

On her part, actress Tonto Dikeh, described Naira Marley’s appointment as the biggest embarrassment from any government agency or law enforcement agency.

“I don’t involve myself in bullshit, especially other people’s bullshit.

This I must say is the biggest embarrassment for any government agency/drug law enforcement agency”, Tonto wrote.

Describing NDLEA as unserious she threatened to unfollow the agency.

“I’ll unfollow now. You guys are the most unserious set of folks. And if you come for me I’ll be ready!! Shit hole!! Shittier home!!!”, she wrote. Read also 

How can you appoint a wrong doer as an advocate? This is way out of context and Law. I believe the NDLEA has it’s rules which are subject to the provisions of the Constitution.
