Lagos Assembly begins screening of fresh 18-commissioner-nominees on Tuesday

The Lagos State House of Assembly will on Tuesday 4th September begin screening of the 18 commissioner-nominees submitted by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

This was disclosed by the Speaker of the house Mr Mudashiru Obasa (now suspended) during plenary session today.

While speaking at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Obasa encouraged the screening committee headed by Mr Fatai Mojeed to ensure a fair screening process.

According to the speaker the 18 commissioner-nominees including Dr Afolabi Tajudeen, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, Prof. Akin Abayomi, Olalere Odusote, Dr Oluwarotimi Fashola, Folashade Ambrose-Medem, Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, Samuel Egube, Tolani Akibu, Bolaji Dada, Barakat Bakare, Olugbenga Omotoso, Mosopefolu George, Yekini Agbaje, Dr Olumide Oluyinka, Abayomi Oluyomi, Dr Iyabode Ayoola and Sola Giwa.

A formal list was sent to the house on Wednesday, 30th August. The lawmakers rejected 17 commissioner-nominees, and confirmed 22 other commissioner-nominees.
