Students To Undertake Drug Test Before Admission – UNIABUJA VC
The Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, on Wednesday, has stated that students who wants to get in the university must undertake a drug test and present the test result before they are admitted into the institution.
Na’allah, who disclosed this at the 27th Pre- Convocation briefing in Abuja with journalists said the institution is at the moment, working with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to help students involved in drug abuse and to rehabilitate them.
He said, “The drug status of students is important in order to help students to be free from drugs. The students will not be sent away from school if it is observed that they involved in drug abuse, but rather they will be rehabilitated in collaboration with the NDLEA.”
The vice chancellor further revealed that 7,128 undergraduate students would be graduating at the school’s convocation scheduled for Saturday, on October 7, 2023.
He also explained that the institution would be introducing Russia Language as part of the general courses that students must pass before graduating.
