Panic As Plane Skids Off Runway In Port Harcourt Airport

There was frenzy at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State on Tuesday when an aircraft owned by Value Jet skidded off the runway.

According to a source at the airport, the plane landed but slipped out of the runway, causing panic among the passengers.

She said, “The plane skidded off the runway due to the wet surface after landing and blocked the runway.”

The source added that no damage was done to the plane and no casualty was recorded, saying “It happens, but it is nothing to worry about.”

She added that the plane blocked a significant part of the runway, stopping other aircraft from taking off or landing , but that efforts were underway to remove it from the runway.
