One Dies In Abuja Road Accident

One person was killed and another sustained injuries on Monday in an accident along the out-bound lane of the Umaru Musa Yaradua Expressway, popularly known as the Airport Road in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.

The accident which involved a gravel-carrying truck and two smaller vehicles claimed the life of a woman, while one person sustained mild injuries.

The accident also resulted in heavy traffic along the ever-busy expressway, making it very difficult for commuters to make use of the road.

Officials of the Directorate of Road Traffic Services, the Federal Road Safety Corps and some policemen were seen at the scene doing what they can to maintain order.
