Here are 5 ways not to overstay your welcome
We get invited over by friends, associates and family. At times we overstay our welcome without knowing it. Here are 5 ways to avoid overstaying your welcome during an invite:
Respect people’s time and plan to leave at a reasonable time, even if you’re invited over for just an evening.
Stipulate party start time and end time in your invitation. That is the time frame for your visit.
Be direct and tell your hosts that it’s time for you to leave. Even your host doesn’t ask you to leave you should know when your time is spent.
Don’t go to rooms or sections you aren’t permitted to go to unless with the permission of the inviter.
Remember to be gracious and polite, and to set clear boundaries and expectations from the beginning to avoid any misunderstandings.
