One Dies As Car Collides With Truck At Isolo, Lagos Under Bridge
A yet to be identified female passenger lost her life in a head-on collision between a Kia car with registration number KWL-475CZ, and a stationary 20-foot containerised truck at Isolo Under bridge inward Oshodi, Lagos State on Friday.
According to a statement by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the sad incident occurred when the car collided with the truck travelling at high speed on the highway.
The force of impact, led to the demise of the female passenger in the car, while the driver sustained serious injuries, and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital.
According to a statement, the agency disclosed that its officials and those of the Nigeria Police had swung to action upon learning of the accident, and have actively worked to extract the trapped person inside the car.
The victim was thereafter successfully extricated with the aid of the light rescue equipment, and has been bagged, and handed over to the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) for transportation to the morgue.
Also, the accidented vehicle has been recovered with the aid of a tow truck, and has been relocated to Olosan Police Station.
“Meanwhile, we are awaiting the Agency’s heavy duty equipment i.e. a Crane and Lowbed to recover the abandoned containerised truck off the road,” the statement titled ‘PRELIMINARY REPORT OF THE ROAD ACCIDENT AT ISOLO UNDER BRIDGE INWARD OSHODI’ added.
