President Xi Jiping Invites Tinubu To China

Chinese President, Xi Jinping has extended an invitation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a state visit to China in September.

The invitation was conveyed to Tinubu by China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiaodong, at the Aso Villa on Thursday.

This information was shared by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, in a statement released on his official X handle on Friday.

According to the statement, Tinubu has accepted the invitation and hoped that it would strengthen Nigeria-China bilateral relations and the proposed currency swap agreement.

The statement added, “Chen, who came with a large entourage, said President Xi would also welcome First Lady Remi Tinubu during the visit.”
