Armed Men Storm Abuja Residence, Abduct Family of Four
In a distressing incident, a group of kidnappers has abducted four members of a family in the Tundun Fulani extension area of Bwari Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The abduction took place at around 1:30 am on Friday, marking yet another violent occurrence in the region.
According to a resident of the area, who preferred to remain anonymous, the heavily armed kidnappers forcefully entered the family’s home and took the victims. The resident also reported that during the attack, one person who managed to escape the kidnappers was shot.
“There was a kidnap incident in Tundun Fulani extension in Bwari around 1:30 am. The kidnappers were many and fully armed. The kidnappers broke into a house and kidnapped four members of the same family. They also shot one person who escaped being kidnapped,” the source recounted.
When reached for comments, Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT police command, confirmed the incident and assured that the police were actively addressing the situation. “We responded swiftly. We are on top of the situation,” she said.
This incident adds to the growing list of kidnapping cases in the Bwari area of the FCT. On May 8, suspected gunmen abducted thirteen persons from Piko, a remote community in Bwari Area Council. Similarly, in July, a resident of El-Rufai Estate in Bwari, identified as Nathaniel, was shot by kidnappers after an attempted abduction was foiled.
These recurring incidents have raised concerns about the security situation in the Bwari area, with residents calling for more effective measures to protect lives and properties.
