Atlanta Rapper, Rich Homie Quan Passes Away Aged 33
Atlanta rapper Dequantes Devontay Lamar, popularly known as Rich Homie Quan, has tragically passed away at the age of 33. The hip-hop community mourns his loss following his death in Georgia on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
According to the Fulton County Medical Examiner, Grady Memorial Hospital informed them of Quan’s passing, though the cause and manner of death have yet to be determined. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, September 6, 2024, to clarify the circumstances surrounding his untimely death.
Rich Homie Quan was born on October 4, 1989, in Atlanta, Georgia, and rose to prominence in the early 2010s. Known for his unique delivery of trap music infused with raw emotion, he worked with notable artists like Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, YG, Young Thug, and Trinidad James. His breakout hit, “Type of Way,” achieved significant success in 2013, peaking at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and establishing him as a force in the rap scene.
