Driver Dies, Three Sustain Injuries In Ogun Auto Crash

A road accident at Oju-Ore, along Idiroko Road in the Ota area of Ogun State, resulted in the death of a driver, identified as Bello Lukman, and left three passengers injured.

It was reported on Wednesday, citing Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, that the incident happened around 8:45 pm on Monday while the driver was trying to park the vehicle properly.

The pedestrians hit by the vehicle include 26-year-old Ojo Isaac, Ladan Musa Moses, and Tunde Adio.

Lukman, driving a Honda shuttle car with the license plate TTD 537 AE, was attempting to reposition the car after parking it on the roadside. In the process, he lost control of the steering and struck the pedestrians nearby.

As a result, the pedestrians sustained injuries and were promptly taken to the State Hospital in Ota for urgent medical treatment.

Odutola said, “Tragically, Ojo Isaac passed away while receiving treatment. His death was confirmed by the attending doctor, and his body was later transferred to the mortuary at General Hospital, Ifo, for an autopsy.

“The accident scene has been inspected, a rough sketch map created, photographs taken, and the vehicle recovered for VIO inspection. Police investigations are still ongoing.”
