Mike Bamiloye Reflects on His Wedding Journey Rooted In Grace And Community Support

Pastor Mike Bamiloye, founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, recently shared a heartfelt reflection on his wedding journey, highlighting how it embodies God’s grace. In a Facebook post, he recounted how he and his wife, Gloria, began their married life with minimal financial resources, relying heavily on the kindness of family, friends, and their faith community.

Bamiloye emphasized that their love endured despite financial challenges. “When I got married, I didn’t have any money for a honeymoon. We stayed in the house we had just rented,” he recalled, illustrating the couple’s humble beginnings.

The couple’s early struggles were met with generosity from those around them. Bamiloye’s sister provided their rented flat, while his best man lent him a suit, and his sister-in-law gifted him shoes and socks for the wedding. Their search for a wedding gown was equally challenging; they found a rental option but lacked the funds for a deposit. It was only through the support of a fellow church member that they could secure the gown.

Reflecting on their attempt to have a court marriage, Bamiloye shared a humorous yet poignant story. They discovered the registration fee was just N170 but couldn’t afford it, leaving them without an official certificate for six years until an embassy required it.

Despite their financial hardships, the couple remained steadfast in their faith, believing in the strength of their love and community support. “Every naira we received on our wedding day went to settle wedding debts,” he noted, revealing that just two days after their wedding, they found themselves in a tight financial situation.

Bamiloye’s narrative serves as a reminder that a strong marriage is rooted in love, faith, and community. He expressed gratitude for his wife, saying, “I thank God for Gloria; she never put me under unnecessary pressure.”

Throughout the years, Bamiloye has consistently celebrated Gloria’s contributions to his ministry. He recalled how, during her National Youth Service Corps, she would send her allowance to support his programs. Their partnership has been instrumental in the success of his drama ministry, reinforcing the idea that love can flourish even in challenging circumstances.

In a touching tribute, Bamiloye reflected on the journey they have shared, expressing his deep appreciation for their bond and the community that supported them.
