Paul Pogba’s Four-Year Doping Ban Reduced To 18 Months, To Return 2025

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has reduced the four-year doping suspension of France international Paul Pogba to just 18 months, enabling the World Cup-winning midfielder to return to his career much sooner than anticipated.

Initially facing the possibility of retiring early, Pogba now has a clear opportunity to make a comeback, as the ruling allows him to start training with Juventus in January 2025 and participate in official matches by March.

Pogba’s suspension, which began on September 11, 2023, was a result of a positive test for DHEA, a prohibited substance recognized for its testosterone-enhancing properties.

Importantly, CAS determined that the substance primarily affects females, concluding that Pogba’s usage was unintentional.

This ruling not only shortens his ban but also overturns his original €5,000 fine.

Mail Sport exclusively reported the news on Friday, revealing that an American clinic, 10X Health Systems, was cited in Pogba’s appeal, with photographic evidence linking the clinic to the supplements he consumed.

Pogba’s representatives and CAS have yet to comment publicly, but the ruling brings an end to months of uncertainty, allowing the 31-year-old to start planning his football comeback.

Football pundit Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the development on X, stating, “Paul Pogba will be back to action in 2025, confirmed!”
