Real Madrid’s Courtois And Rodrygo Sustain Injuries, To Miss Classico
Real Madrid stars, Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo are both expected to miss the upcoming Clasico against league leaders Barcelona on Saturday due to injuries.
Los Blancos secured a 5-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday, but the win came at the expense of losing goalkeeper Courtois.
“Courtois has been diagnosed with an adductor injury in his left leg,” the club announced on Wednesday, confirming that Ukrainian goalkeeper Andriy Lunin would likely step in, as he did earlier this month when Courtois dealt with a minor hip issue.
Rodrygo also picked up an injury late in the match, with coach Carlo Ancelotti confirming it as a “muscular injury.” Reports from Spanish media suggest that Rodrygo is set to miss the clash against Barcelona due to a hamstring problem.
Real Madrid, currently second in La Liga, are three points behind Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.
