FRSC Warns Public Against Fake Recruitment Claims
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a warning to the public regarding fraudulent online publications falsely claiming an ongoing recruitment exercise by the Corps. In a statement released on Friday, Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, categorically dismissed the reports as false and urged Nigerians to disregard them.
Ogungbemide stated, “The attention of the Federal Road Safety Corps has been drawn to a publication by online platforms misinforming the public about ongoing recruitment of personnel into the services of the Corps. This medium is to let the public know that the Corps is not recruiting at the moment, neither is there any ongoing arrangement to that effect.”
Recruitment Processes Are Transparent and Public
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, reaffirmed that FRSC recruitment exercises are conducted transparently and are always publicly announced via verified channels. These include:
•FRSC’s official website:www.frsc.gov.ng
•Official social media platforms
•National Traffic Radio (107.1FM)
He emphasized that the agency currently has no plans for a recruitment exercise and advised the public to rely only on these trusted sources for accurate information.
Warning Against Fraud
The FRSC expressed concern about scammers exploiting job seekers through false recruitment claims, often aimed at extorting money or personal information. The Corps warned that it will not bear responsibility for any losses incurred by individuals who fall victim to such scams.
“The public is by this publication warned to desist from any form of engagement with the purported scammers and purveyors of misinformation as the Corps will not be liable should anyone fall victim,” the statement read.
Conclusion
The FRSC’s warning highlights the need for vigilance against online fraud. Members of the public and prospective applicants are advised to verify any recruitment information directly through the Corps’ official communication channels and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
