Adele Releases Comeback Single “Easy On Me”, After Six Long Years
Irrespective of its long run time of about five minutes and 31 seconds, Adele’s Easy On Me is an easy and interesting listen. Adele is known for her deep and relatable lyrics with her sonorous voice, and this particular single tugs at the heart strings in the way the British singer-songwriter did with Hello and Someone Like You.
The new single, which was released early on Friday morning, also has all the endearing tropes usually in an Adele music video, ranging from billowing leaves, curtains and torn-out sheets of paper, to a house disorganized.
However, this time around, this new release reveals the disorder in the artist’s personal life, which is shown in the lyrics and the pain threading through her sonorous voice. Easy On Me represents the “absolute mess and inner turmoil” the singer went through during her 2019 divorce from charity chief executive husband Simon Konecki, with whom she has a son.
Her much-anticipated new album “30” will be released on November 19, the singer announced on Wednesday.
“I’ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones,” she wrote in a Twitter post.
“I’ve finally found my feeling again. I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life.”
