Again, Fire Razes Oko Baba Sawmill, Ebute Metta
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has put out the inferno that razed Oko Baba Sawmill in Ebute Metta on Thursday, April 1, 2021.
The effort by the firefighters prevented the fire from extending to the adjoining shanties and residential areas.
This was disclosed by the Acting Controller, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, while briefing journalists about the incident.
The firefighters and men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, have cordoned off the area to prevent recoding casualties.
“We are trying to prevent the raging fire from spreading to adjoining buildings,” Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the Lagos fire service, Mr Amodu Shuaibu, stated.
Nosa Okunbor, State’s emergency spokesman said the fire began from Kano Street in the area, confirming that several shanties have been razed, and that the cause of the fire cannot be ascertained.
