Al Hilal Signs Former Manchester United Striker Odion Ighalo

Super star player, Odion Ighalo, has joined Saudi Arabian side, Al-Hilal on a one-and-a-half-year contract from rivals Al Shabab on Saturday.

Al-Hilal who are currently fourth in the Saudi League made the signing of the Nigeria international known on their social media handles on Saturday until June 2023. The striker is a direct replacement for Bafétimbi Gomis.

Odion Ighalo is currently the top scorer in the Saudi Arabian league with 13 league goals from 19 appearances but his transfer will come as a shock to Al Shabab fans.

The 32-year-old is joining the Blue Waves for an undisclosed fee.

At present, Shabab is third in the league, they are seven points behind leaders Al Ittihad and three ahead of fourth-placed Hilal. However, Hilal do have a game in hand over their city rivals.

Speaking on his social media account once the move was confirmed, Ighalo tweeted: “Thank you Al Shabab. It was a pleasure.”
