APC Congress Suspended In Oyo

The congress of the All Progressives Congress which was supposed to hold in Oyo State has been suspended because of the alleged forging of documents for the congress and some other discrepancies.

The congress was suspended following an order that was issued by the Caretaker Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State.

Buni ordered the suspension not too long after he was certain of an appeal made to him by stakeholders in Oyo pertaining to the discrepancies that took place at the last minutes on the delegates list.

In a statement signed by the party’s National Secretary, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, the CECPC chairman noted that the suspension is pertinent to ensure credibility of the process which leads to the emergence of new leaders in Oyo State.

The statement further said Governor Mala Buni would not condone any act of indiscipline and fraudulent manipulation of process of any kind.

The statement read, “It has become necessary to suspend the ongoing State Congress exercise in Oyo State due to information regarding the forging of documents meant to conduct this exercise.

“The national chairman, has however ordered the Oyo State Congress Committee to return to the National Secretariat for further briefing.”
