Asisat Oshoala, Nnadozie Shortlisted As Finalists For CAF Award
Ahead of the 2023 CAF awards scheduled to be held in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 11, Super Falcons players – Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nnadozie have been listed among the final ten nominees for the CAF women’s Player of the Year award.
The apex football body in Africa announced this on Monday via its X account.
Earlier, CAF had disclosed the comprehensive list of nominees, featuring outstanding players such as Rasheedat Ajibade, Osinachi Ohale, Toni Payne, and Christy Ucheibe alongside Nnadozie and Oshoala, who have exhibited exemplary performances deserving of recognition.
Oshoala in 2022 beat Zambia’s Grace Chanda and Ajara Nchout Njoya of Cameroon to claim the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award for the fifth time.
Meanwhile, Super Falcons head coach, Randy Waldrum, made it as the coach of the year while Deborah Abiodun and Esther Ajakaye made it as finalists for the Best Young Player of the Year.
The Super Falcons team also made it as a finalist for the women’s national team of the year.
