Bandits Abduct Businessman In Kano, Police Vehicle Set Ablaze
Banditry has seemed to increase alarmingly in the state of Kano as a new case of a bandit attack was recorded to happen in Minjibir local government area of Kano State.
A resident of the area, Bala Sani said that the gunmen arrived in the town around 12:45 am, shooting sporadically around Masaka area of the town before abducting a businessman, Abdullahi Kalos.
It was further learned that the bandits stationed their men at all the junctions in the town and engaged the police in a gun battle around 4:30 am.
Kano police spokesperson, DSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed the incident and also revealed that they are currently in pursuit of the bandits to rescue the victims.
Haruna said;
“After the gunmen kidnapped three people we engaged them in a gun battle during which they retreated, leaving two persons behind as they set out patrol van on fire.
“We are currently in pursuit of the bandits to rescue the victims because we believe some of them had sustained bullet injuries.”
