BUA Groups Announces The Purchase Of A Million Covid-19 Vaccines For Nigeria

BUA group has announced it purchased one million of astra ZENECA covid 19 vaccines to be distributed in Nigeria

One of Africa’s largest conglomerates, BUA made it known on its official Twitter handle in the early hours of today that it has paid for a million doses of astra ZENECA covid 19 vaccines for Nigeria through the AFREXIM vaccine programme in partnership with CACOVID

It would be the first set of vaccines to be delivered since the onset of the pandemic

According to BUA,the vaccines will be distributed free to Nigerians at no cost

In addition to this BUA is committing to purchase 5 million doses for Nigeria as soon as they become available through this same arrangement

However,in a statement released by CACOVID, it revealed that the agency denied BUA’S contribution to securing the doses stating that purchase of the vaccines cannot be done by individuals or companies,but only through the federal government
