Chelsea Signs Kalidou Koulibaly From Napoli

Chelsea have announced the signing of Senegal international, Kalidou Koulibaly on a 4 year contract.

The 31-year-old Senegal captain becomes the second signing after Manchester City striker Raheem Sterling since Todd Boehly’s consortium purchased the premier league club.

I’m very happy to be here with this team at Chelsea,”Koulibaly made this known in an interview.

It’s a big team in the world and my dream was always to play in the Premier League. Chelsea came first to get me in 2016 but we didn’t make it. Now when they came to me I accepted it because they really wanted me to come to the Premier League to play for them”.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly added: “Kalidou Koulibaly is one of the world’s elite defenders and we are delighted to be welcoming him to Chelsea.

“A great leader and an exemplary team player, Kalidou brings a wealth of experience and attributes that will benefit our squad and the club as a whole.

Koulibaly started his career at Metz in France, before moving to Genk in 2012 and then Napoli two years later.

He helped Senegal to glory at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and has earned 62 caps for his country.

We are very happy about (Koulibaly) signing and joining our team,” Thomas Tuchel added.
