Christian Pulisic Test Positive For COVID-19 To Miss Arsenal Game On Sunday
Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that winger Christian Pulisic has tested positive for Covid-19 and is now self-isolating.
Pulisic will now miss Chelsea’s Premier League London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday, August 22.
His diagnosis comes a week after Ruben Loftus-Cheek contracted Covid-19, while Arsenal have also been dealing with their own outbreak after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Willian and Alex Runnarson were all affected.
Pulisic scored in Chelsea’s opening day 3-0 win against Crystal Palace last weekend. He did not play with the USMNT at the Gold Cup this summer to give himself some time off following Chelsea’s Champions League win in 2020-21 and the USMNT CONCACAF Nations League victory.
Chelsea refused to confirm exactly when Pulisic tested positive but sources disclosed that he is hopeful of being available for next Saturday’s trip to Liverpool It is not thought at this stage that any other players are affected.
