EFCC Arrests Ganduje’s Wife Over Alleged Land Fraud
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday arrested and questioned the wife of Kano State Governor, Mrs Hafsat Ganduje over an alleged multimillion naira land fraud.
Hafsat was questioned for hours in Abuja and was given the permission to go home later in the evening.
She ought to return to the Commission for more questioning at a later date.
It was learnt that the governor’s wife was arrested by the commission over her inability to reply to an invitation over the allegations thrown at her by her son, Abdulazeez, who has reportedly left the country.
Abdulazeez petitioned the anti-graft agency over his mother’s refusal to refund the money paid to her to speed up the purchase of a parcel of land in Kano.
According to Abdulazeez, the money belonged to a property developer, who asked Abdulazeez to purchase the landed property.
It was discovered that the matter worsened when Hafsat refused to provide the land which was paid to purchase or refund the money.
