87 Lawyers Becomes Senior Advocates Of Nigeria
The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has granted the title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to a total of 87 lawyers.
According to a statement by Hajo Sarki Bello, Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the LPPC, the inauguration ceremony for these 87 recipients will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024.
At its 164th plenary held on Thursday, the LPPC considered five (5) different petitions written against some of the Applicants and determined that each of the petitions lacked merit and accordingly dismissed same.
Some of the successful applicants include former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL), Monday Ubani, Deremi Oguntoye, Chukwudi Enebeli, Wendy Kuku, Mofesomo Tayo-Oyetibo amongst others.
The lone academic applicant is Prof. Ganiu Adeyemi.
