Ekiti Governor Oyebanji Approves Work-From-Home Policy For State Workers

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved a work-from-home policy aimed at easing the economic burden on civil servants in the state. The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, announced the policy in Ado Ekiti on Friday, stating that the new arrangement will take effect on Monday, September 9, 2024.

The work-from-home policy allows civil servants to work remotely based on their grade levels. Workers on levels 01-07 will work from home for three days a week, those on levels 08-12 will work from home for two days, and officers on levels 13-17 will work from home once a week. Essential workers such as teachers, healthcare professionals, and security personnel are exempt from the policy.

Government agencies have been instructed to develop sustainable schedules to ensure that the new arrangement does not disrupt productivity. The governor emphasized that this policy complements other palliative measures, including a monthly wage award for workers and pensioners, and free bus services for workers and students.

Oyebode reiterated that Governor Oyebanji’s administration remains committed to improving the welfare of workers and will continue implementing measures to enhance productivity in the state.
