Emir Sanusi Calls For Federal Support To Address Fulani Crisis

The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has expressed his readiness to intervene in the ongoing Fulani crises in Nigeria, aiming to provide a lasting solution to the challenges faced by the Fulani community. During a meeting with the leadership of the Fulani group, Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam Nigeria, at his palace on Tuesday, Sanusi emphasized the urgent need for the Federal Government to find a permanent resolution to these crises.

Emir Sanusi highlighted that the solution could only be achieved with the full backing of the Federal Government, stating, “The government has the might and resources to implement the necessary changes, while I will provide the ideas and methodologies to guide the process.

He acknowledged the suffering endured by the Fulani people, who have faced widespread attacks, isolation, and the rustling of their livestock. While recognizing the negative impact of certain individuals within the Fulani community, Sanusi stressed that it was time for the government and traditional leaders to work together to resolve conflicts, particularly those between Fulani herders and farmers, and address other crimes associated with the community.

“I am ready to assist the government in achieving peace and prosperity for the Fulani people and all Nigerians. Their suffering must end, and I believe that together, we can accomplish this mission,” Sanusi declared.

The leader of the Fulani group, Madibo Jada, expressed the group’s support for Emir Sanusi, reaffirming their allegiance to him. He noted that their members are widespread across Nigeria and voiced confidence in Sanusi’s ability to restore the Fulani’s reputation and highlight their contributions to the country’s socio-economic development.
