FG Approves B.Sc Cybersecurity, Others For Universities

The Federal Government through the National Universities Commission(NUC) has approved the introduction of Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, Information System, Software Engineering as new programmes into the Nigerian university system.

This was announced in the breakdown of new courses in Abuja on Monday.

According to reports, the NUC had in 2021 inaugurated a committee of experts drawn from various disciplines in Nigerian universities to create the new Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards for universities.

The Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abubakar Rasheed disclosed that the new curriculum, Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards, was brought about after a comprehensive review of Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards currently in use.
