Former Interior Minister, Alhaji Bello Maitama Yusuf Dies Aged 76

A former minister, Alhaji Bello Maitama Yusuf has lost his life at the age of 76.

Yusuf, a former senator from 1999-2007 passed away in the early hours of Friday in Kano.

A family friend of the deceased, Alhaji Hussaini Dalhatu, who confirmed the death, made it known that the funeral prayer of the Sardauna Dutse would take place after the Jumu’at prayer at the Emir of Kano’s palace.

Bello Maitama Yusuf, born in Gwaram, Jigawa State in 1947, was minister of interior in 1981 and minister of commerce in 1982.
